Our Staff

Shad's Custom Countertops, Inc. began in March of 1997 as a one man shop in Portland.  Shad Hall, President and Owner, started the business after returning from Active Duty, serving four years in the U.S. Army.  In 1999, the business had grown enough that Shad began hiring employees and moved the shop to Windham.  By 2003, Shad had purchased his own building in order to have the space to keep up with his growing business.  After two expansions at our current location on Collins Pond Road in Windham, Shad's has come a long way from a one man shop!

Shad spends most of his spare time with his wife and their six year old son, Jake.  Shad and Jake are both outdoor enthusiasts.  This past winter they took up skiing and this spring Shad is the Assistant Coach of Jake's Coach's Pitch team!

 Matt Estes has been with Shad's for almost nine years, starting in 2001 as one of the guys picking up the slack in the shop.  Matt has grown with Shad and is now one of the most knowledgeable Solid Surface Fabricators around.  In addition to being a talented fabricator, he is also our Shop Foreman.  When Matt isn't at work (which isn't often!) he is at home with his family.

Phil Parmenter, our Postform Fabrication Manager has been with Shad's for about six years, but has been in the buisness for over thirty years.  His experience is especially helpful for those unique countertops that come up from time to time!

Mike Brunell, started at Shad's in March 2006.  He is really a "Jack of All Trades"- fabricating in multiple departments, wherever he is needed.  During his personal time Mike likes to spend time with his three sons.  He also enjoys the outdoors.  His favorite outdoor activities include: hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley.

Ryan Bean is working on his fifth year with Shad's and after extensive personal growth he is our lead Solid Surface Installer.  In addition to templating and installing, Ryan also fabricates the tops in the shop.  In his spare time Ryan enjoys what many young guys do- cars, dirt bikes, and hanging out with his friends and girlfriend.

Andy Edgecomb came to Shad's in 2006 with over three years experience as lead solid surface fabricatior at his former job.  Now our shop and our customers have the benefit of two highly experienced fabricators.

Tarsha King joined the Shad's family in late 2007 as our Office Manager.  She now plays an important role in the everyday workings of the office and shop.  Tarsha's background includes a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Maine and four years combined experience in wholesale countertops sales and kitchen design support.  In Tarsha's spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially her two nephews!

Matt Haskins joined Shad's in April 2008.  Originally from New York, he's acquired the nickname, "Upstate."  He is the newest addition to our solid surface team.  He has caught on quickly with fabrication and is now helping our lead installer on the road.

Curtis Soucy started at Shad's in May of 2008 as our countertop delivery driver.  When he's not delivering he's either fabricating tops or helping the Solid Surface template and install team.  Depending on the season, you'll find him hunting, ice fishing, or canoeing in his spare time!
